How do I change the size of the picture on my 1998 32'; zenith tv?

The picture is stretched out..

Can anyone tell me why this is and step by step how to fix it????How do I change the size of the picture on my 1998 32'; zenith tv?
I assume your TV is a cathode ray tube TV. You will need to take it to a Zenith repair shop or call them for home service call. This happened on my old tv and the repairman had to change a part. How do I change the size of the picture on my 1998 32'; zenith tv?
It is stretched out because you're watching a video source set for a widescreen TV. Set the video source to normal mode. This will create black bars above and below the screen but the video will no longer be stretched. The reason for this is most newer video content is designed for newer widescreen TVs, so if you view the video on an older set, either you cut off the ends of the video picture or shrink it to fit the older squarish screen.
Either look through your TV menu to see if you have picture options or picture size options or maybe even aspect ratio; or find a button on your remote that adjusts the picture size like ';P.Size'; button.

Assuming TV's in 1998 had remotes :)
