How come I don't look like myself in my pictures?

I've always had pretty low self-esteem in regards to my physical appearance, so I find it rather disconcerting that the image of me captured by my digital camera (as well as my video camera) differs so greatly from that of the one in the mirror.

In most mirrors, I tend to look at least somewhat attractive. The length and width of my face suits my body, and the overall size of my head is proportional to that of my body. Move away from the mirror, and things still look fine, unless the mirror is the type that begins to distort and bend light waves at a distance. Some mirrors I don't look that great in, and I have no idea why. Is it just the lighting? Am I ugly in certain locations but not in others? I don't get it.

Same thing kind of applies with my camera, though I have a harder time getting a good picture of myself as opposed to being satisfied with my reflection. For the sake of hopefulness, I'll assume that I'm not photogenic rather than not even a tiny bit attractive. Yeah, my pictures look good when my face is at a certain distance, cast at a certain angle and well-lit, but most pictures that other people take of me are horrible.

I was messing around with my video camera, and it made me look bad, too. Distances of two feet to seven or eight feet made my face look very wide and small. Distances of ten feet or more made my head look incredibly tiny. Everybody I've asked (including people who I know would be honest) says that my head is normal sized. Christ, some guy I didn't even know told me that I had a *big* head. Eh?

This is seriously confusing as hell. Why do my pictures all turn out so differently? Why does my reflection appear different from mirror to mirror? I know the lighting is probably the catalyst in all of these situations, but is there anything else?

Here's a few pictures. Notice how I look horrible in some, and alright in others. Notice how my facial features almost seem to change from one picture to the next. Ergh!!!

Oh, and I know some are from different angles. I did that on purpose. All of these pictures were taken within a month or two of one another.

Thanks to all who answer properly!

My daughter is entering this contest with designing and she's having problems uploading her picture/ design. The site says that the file has to be a JPEG and less than 300k. The picture is a JPEG, but the file doesn't say whether or not it's a #k. The file is 1.70 MB. Is this smaller or larger than 300k? And either way, how do you change the file size of the picture and or to match the 'k' of the 300k? If possible please give a step by step approach, (I know that's asking a lot, but you don't have to. Just if it's possible!)

1.7 MB is roughly 1700 KB.

You could try editing the image and re-sizing it so that it is somewhat smaller. Please Help?? I need help with a picture!?
    1.70 MB is too large,

The software that opens the picture so that you can see it should have all the tools you need change the picture. This is not complicated, however, you must read the directions or, better yet, talk to friends or relatives about what they are using on their computer.

They should be able to decrease the size for you.

I somehow changed the font size of google.com's search bar... it is quite annoying... and I can't bring it back to normal. All of the other fonts in the website and any other website are ok, it is just the search bar and the SEARCH button of google.com...

Seems that it was done on Google's end. they are changing the search bar font to be bigger.
i just noticed this too, really annoying
You can reduce the font size by pressing ctrl and - together but the buttons will be less effected. My guess is you'll get used to it. Google doesn't make changes without testing them on large sample sizes of users first and checking if they like them. Maybe it won't grow on you and you'll stay annoyed by it but if you do you'll be in the minority.

How do i change the size and resolution of my picture in ms-word? I want to convert it (2592/1944';) into a passport size photograph (6/4''). Can anybody help me to give me a solution?Edit a picture by MS-word?
right click on the picture then click on ';format picture'; click on the ';size'; tab, uncheck ';lock aspect ratio'; then edit your sizes.Edit a picture by MS-word?
Easiest way is to drag the bounding box of the picture when its selected and resize it as you want.

If you need more accuracy, jut right click the picture the choose Format Picture. Go to the Size tab and enter the exact size you need (usually in inches, but depends on your default unit of measurement). In MS Word 2007, just right click then head to Size and then the same thing applies.

You cannot change resolutions though, for that you'll need at least a basic graphics editor.

    Youtube videos changing size constantly?

Whenever I watch videos on youtube (and youtube only; This doesn't happen with hulu, google video, etc), the video will shrink to about 1/4th the original size, and then quickly change back. It constantly switches between the right size and the small size, and it's really annoying. I managed to get a picture of what it shrinks to:

Any ideas on how I can fix this before I have a seizure? I've already tried reinstalling flash player.Youtube videos changing size constantly?
If videos are flickering, shaking or jumping back-and-forth

from big to small or from top-left to bottom-right, perhaps

something is wrong with your Flash player, particularly if

you've got one of the newer ones.

There's no need to have the latest Flash player, because

nothing about being able to watch YouTube has changed

in the last 2 years. (Technically speaking, you could still

use Flash 8 if you wanted to.)

In fact, the more recent Flash players are causing plenty

of grief for lots of YouTubers -- especially the 8 variations

of version 10. It's absolutely crazy that there should be a

    10.0.525, 10.1.218, 10.2.26, 10.2.54, 10.12.10, 10.12.36,

10.15.3 and 10.22.87. Most updates are usually good for

    only one thing: computer/software conflicts.

    I have never strayed away from 9.47, and many ';flashers';

swear by 9.45. Think of those two Flashes like Windows

XP compared to Vista. Please take a look at the Asker's

feedback comments to this other ';Best Answer'; of mine,

(even though his YouTube issue isn't the same as yours):

Another thing you might want to consider is whether you

have some crappy utility such as GWA, SpeedBit, Jaton,

Trident, Diamond Fire, ATI or Easy Video Accelerator.

Of course nothing ';accelerates'; live streaming video files.

Even YouTube, Google and Macromedia understand this

and write that in their own FAQ's. Thus, if your computer

has any type of ';accelerator';, please dump it, burn it, rip

it, kick it, trash it, uninstall it -- do all that you can to get

as far away from it as possible.

Because you're not the first person this week to ask this

question, I recently did lots of Googling, researching and

reading about ';flickering/shaking'; videos -- and nearly all

    the discussion forums I came across mentioned ';nVidia';

    Edit a picture by MS-word?

How do i change the size and resolution of my picture in ms-word? I want to convert it (2592/1944';) into a passport size photograph (6/4''). Can anybody help me to give me a solution?Edit a picture by MS-word?
You cannot convert a picture in MS Word - it is not designed as a photo-editing program. What you can do is resize the picture to fit your document by clicking on it and dragging the corners in (or out) diagonally. Don't do the sides and top/bottom independently or you may end up altering the aspect ratio.Edit a picture by MS-word?
All you do is click on the picture and a frame appears around it. There are little boxes in each corner. If you pass your cursor over the box, it turns into a double-headed arrow. Once it looks like that double-headed arrow, hold down your mouse button and drag the little box in the direction that gives you the result that you want. You'll have to play with the output to get the exact size you want, as it probably won't match up to exactly what you see on your monitor and the passport has to be exact. Just print it on plain paper and measure it so you can make corrections as needed before you print your final copy. It's easy.

I just did this to verify to myself that it can be done, because I don't think the first answer is correct. If I just did it - it must be possible.

How do I change the pixel size of an image?

    Okay...so I'm obsessed with the new movie Avatar by James Cameron. I want to change by Buddy Icon on my AIM to this cool Google Image picture I found of Avatar. The first thing i did was save my picture. Then I went to settings on my AIM %26gt; clicked the Expressions tab %26gt; clicked the Browse link %26gt; and then selected my picture %26gt; and then clicked Open. But after I clicked Open, a pop-up appeared and said: ';Error: The height and width of the image must be not more than 64 pixels or less than 15 pixels. (IM-0703';

I figured out that the picture was 535 x 418 pixels, and that AIM Icons need to be 48 x 48 pixels.

    How do I change 535 x 418 pixels to 48 x 48 pixels?!

(I have Microsoft '03, Dell....if that has anything to do with it...i have no idea!)How do I change the pixel size of an image?
You can do a search on Google.com and find hundreds of programs to resize images.

Here is a link to an online image resizer that will do a quick job for your one image. You will only enter the width of 48 and the height will be calculated for you.

How to add flashing lights to a PowerPoint Presentation?

I'm making a powerpoint for a class project, and at one point it would look really cool to have flashing lights on the slide, because it's an alarm sounding. I've been trying to figure out how to do it for the past hour, and I've came up short.

I was going to just put a lot of slides of the same picture and change their size so it looks like it's flashing, but that got tedious because if one was moved just a little bit it would look off.

I don't care if I have to download something (I don't want to buy anything, though), I just want to figure out how to do this.

Thank you!How to add flashing lights to a PowerPoint Presentation?
It sounds like you already have the ';light'; that you want to have flash. PowerPoint actually includes a flash animation that will solve your problem. It's in the Custom Animation palette...

PowerPoint XP/2003, select the picture of the light, right click on it and select Custom animation to launch the palette.

PowerPoint 2007, select the picture of the light, go to the Animation tab at the top, click on Custom Animation near the left side to launch the animation palette.

From here it's the same for both versions: go to Add Effect at the top of the palette --%26gt; Emphasis --%26gt; Blink (if you don't see it, go to More Effects)

You'll see your picture or shape on the animation list, Double click on it and go to the Timing tab (or right click and select Timing). You can set the speed you want it to flash (you can actually type a number in there if you want to customize that setting), then for how long - sounds like you might want to set the repeat to Until next click or Until end of slide.

Hit OK, then back in the palette, the default will have the animation starting on a mouse click. If you want it to start when you get to the slide, pull down the Start setting and choose With previous.

You can get more complex than that using glows or two different color lights, etc. but I think this is a good simple solution to your problem.

Good luck and start playing around in the animation palette - you won't get hurt ;-) and you'll learn all kinds of great stuff! How to add flashing lights to a PowerPoint Presentation?
You can use the appear and disappear transitions, over and over again, or the size change transition. Just look under ';Custom Animation'; in the toolbar. Good luck!

Sorry to say this, but i hope you have your original picture somewhere. There is no way to make the picture bigger again like you want. It will always look very pixel like.

I have a kodak easyshare m883. 8.0 mp. Like what size of pictures should i change it to for good quality and less grainy-ness? How about the AF control[still]?

What sort of a concert is it? Popular, or classical music? Are you allowed to use flash? What sort of lighting is there? These are the questions you need to consider.

If its a pop concert with limited lighting, you are going to struggle whatever, you can remove the noise in post processing, Photoshop lightroom has a function to reduce noise. So you can shoot at a reasonably high iso (around 800-1600). Your flash is probably not going to be any use at the sort of ranges you will be shooting at. Finally switch on IS which will give you 2-3 stops on your shutter speed. Also shoot at the widest zoom since thats when your aperture is most open. This will maximise the amount of light you get onto your sensor. What should i change the settings to on my camera for the best quality?
Your camera is a cheap P%26amp;S, one of the cheapest on the market, of course the pictures are bad quality and grainy in low light!. The reason being that the sensor in your camera is about the size of a grain of salt, is terrible at gathering light and will produce awful noise in your images. This is why DSLR's have sensors 20x the size of that of P%26amp;S's.

The only thing you could try is by setting it to some sort of 'night' mode and try and clean up the image afterwards using post processing software. You are simply expecting too much from your camera, you need to buy a new one.

Zooming the photo without change in the pixels.?

i want to enlarge a picture to the size of a wallpaper or even more big size but the quality of the picture should not change. i mean that it should not lose the quality by converting into a pixel or anyother difference, bu should retain the same quality even when i zoom it. how should i go about it. any particular software or ideas.please.Zooming the photo without change in the pixels.?
First of all the photo needs to be cropped in the camera ... that is fill the sensor with only the image you are going to print so you don't waste any of the image later by having to crop. Second shoot in RAW (uncompressed) so you have the maximum amount of image information possible. Third (and this may cost a little more than your budget will support, shoot with a camera with at least a 10 megapixel sensor, more is better, but the cost of the camera body can jump from under $1700 to over $5000 as the pixel count goes up.

Software wise, there are some image interpolation programs out there that will fine tune the images as it gets huge. S-Spline, Genuine Fractals, Lanczos, Bicubic are but a few.Zooming the photo without change in the pixels.?
there no free software who can do this

but here's a fantastic program that u can use its free trail

    http://www.batchconverter.com/

    goodluck ;)
It's impossible, images are made of pixels, some images has a high resolution (300 dpi, best for printing) [dot per inch] and in 100% preview they look big, and you see part of it on your screen, but once you zoom in you start to see those pixels, but in 72 dpi images (for web and screen browsing) if it has less then 800x600 resolution and you display it on a 1024x768 or higher desktop resolution, you will get a blury image.

Look for a higher resolution image. There are free image websites like www.sxc.hu where you can download images at no cost. Try it, you will sure find your topic.

    Good luck
    Try fractal zooming :)
Use any program that uses cubic bipolar interpolation like photoshop for example. There isnt really any other way to enlarge without losing too much quality.

How can I reduce it in a simple way. Photoshop is somewhat too big for me after using scankisk to list. Reason I went to camera because I have option to take picture anywhere as to being connected to the PC with the cord of Scandisk. I need a simple explanation using Photoshop 3.0 I am not that experienced with computer terms. If someone would just type out the steps it would help. Do you change the size before it is sent to the file ? Thanks.I am new to using Photoshop. I want to learn how to reduce picture for listing to eBay. Simplest way please !
    In Photoshop, open the image.

Go to the ';Image'; menu, choose ';Image Size';.

In the dialog box, at the top, set the width of the image you want to have in pixels (for e-bay, usually 600-800 pixels wide is PLENTY). If you leave the defaults all checked, Photoshop will automatically set the height for you. Then click on OK, and the image is re-sized.

Then go to ';File'; menu, and ';Save As'; -- save the resized image with a different file name from the original so you still have the original full-sized image in case you need it later. Then upload your resized image. That's it.I am new to using Photoshop. I want to learn how to reduce picture for listing to eBay. Simplest way please !
Use a free site www.photobucket.com - you can resize and also place the pictures in your description using an html link - just copy the img text to your description.
    Resize it
welltraveled gave you a correct and complete answer.

But- there's another way as well. You can use the ';save for web'; command in Photoshop Elements. This will automatically save it as a small file. It's simpler, but the difference is that this method strips off the EXIF information. So- if you wanted to retain the image parameters (date, exposure info, camera type, etc) then use Welltraveled method.

How can I decrease the file size of a digital camera picture downloaded to my computer?

Most of the pics I take are 2.1 to 2.5 mb files I need to shrink them down while keeping them as a .jpeg or changing to a .gif. Any advice will help please. How can I decrease the file size of a digital camera picture downloaded to my computer?
You can do this very easily, and I think (not positive) even in batches with Picasa2, free from Google/ This is a great program for organizing and sharing photos.

Try free tools Pixresizer or Irfanview

or do it online with Snipshot

use any picture viewer program - you might have one already on your computer or even PAINT. You can just ';resize'; the pictures. I normally resize to about 30% or 40% of the original size and it's perfect for viewing and lower memory. If you don't have any picture viewer program, you can always download one for free from www.download.com - it has tons of free programs sharewares for almost anything.
ACD SEE does the job exellent.

The quality doesnt change but size incridibly will be Decreased.
What Sarka... says is true, most software programs have an edit viewer of some type. The problem I'm having is with the enlargement protocol of the viewer. It states that the photo stays the same size, while the enlarged section is filled in with a plain background-color. Well, THat I understand because that's ';exactly'; what it does. What I don't understand is..... why?!?

Anyway, I prefer online editors for just about everything I do. They are versatile, and can be accessed from any puter... anywhere. The .jpeg(.jpg) format works best when storing photos online, the compressed files save space, load faster, all without any significant loss in the quality of the image's pi(x)cture.

I have a lot of pictures on my computer, that my girlfriend has sent me. They are all different sizes, some are small and some are big. Is there a way I can make all the pictures all the same size?Does anyone know how to change the dimensions on pictures?
Use the Image Resizer from Microsoft Powertoys

http://download.microsoft.com/download/w鈥?/a>Does anyone know how to change the dimensions on pictures?
yes, but it's time-consuming...first you want to click ';start'; %26gt; ';programs'; %26gt; ';accessories'; %26gt; then try to find a program called ';paint'; or ';mspaint'; in that folder, in paint, open your picture, then click (on the top) ';image';, then ';attributes';...from there, you can change the dimensions of the picture to anything you want!

Making a picture smaller on microsoft paint?

ive tried maiking a picture smaller clicking the IMAGE option, then changing the size in the ATTRIBUTES option, but it just seems to zoom in to the top-let corner. how can i get it into the centre of the picture??Making a picture smaller on microsoft paint?
Press ctrl+W and then adjust the size from there. If you don't want it to get stretched, change the same percentage in both height and width.Making a picture smaller on microsoft paint?
This is a very basic editing program, so draw your frame round the picture, up to Image, size/Skew and change the percentage from 100 to, say 50% both horizontal and vertical and see if that is OK, or whatever percentage you want, but make sure you do both horizontal and vertical otherwise you will distort the image.
Press CTRL+W to bring up the strech and skew dialog box.

You can adjust the size percentages for width and height.

Increasing the values beyond 100% will zoom the image, decreasing under 100% will shrink the image.

ctrl+a resize the selection to what you want, crop of the white

however i do suggest you install gimp and do it, as it uses more complex algorithms to make sure you don't loose as much quality as you would in m$paint
click on the button in the top right of the tool bar and drag it around the picture this should enable you to move it. If you want to cut bits out of it use the button in the top left of the tool bar. ;)
I always used ';Stretch/Skew'; under the Image menu. Then you have to adjust the horizontal and vertical by percentages to increase/decrease size.

To make the entire image smaller in appearance, you would use the ';Image Size'; command. To make individual pieces, or layers, of an image smaller (or larger, or tweaked or whatever) select the layer in question in your layers pallete, and then ';Free Transform'; or ';Command T'; on a mac (I forget the PC equiv, mb CTRL T or ALT T) and it brings up a border around the subject matter in question that you can drag, shift drag, etc.

  • How do the coded letters in the vitals of a .jpg picture works?

I opened a .jpg image in a particular notepad and it showed certain symbols, numbers and letters... So I decided to randomly remove '; 脕W煤k脨y'; from the ';text-converted image'; and see how would the image look. When I saved the text and then opened the file in .jpg format again, the whole image was totally bright.

So I need to know how do ALL the letters that we see in the text format of an image works? How can we edit the image i.e. change its size, add something in it, etc... by editing those letters? How do the coded letters in the vitals of a .jpg picture works?
    You can't really.

The text you see is just notepad trying to represent the picture data as text, it is just gibberish. The chances of you making a valid change to an image in notepad are ridiculously small. Plus JPEG is actually a compression format, so the data you see in notepad is a compressed version of the image. Because it is compressed, viewers decompress the image before showing it to you. The compression makes it even less likely for you to make a valid change because the viewer expect a very specific structure to the image data and any change you make is most likely to screw this structure up. It would be like zipping a text file, editing the compressed file and the trying to extract the file again. You're not going to succeed.

So bottom line, if you want to edit an image, use image editing software, they exist for a reason.

    2 questions about myspace!?

    1st question:

Does anyone know any websites that I can edit pictures on myspace?

All that I really wanna do is crop and rotate the pictures, change the colors and just add stuff to it; like text. Also I don't want it to take a long time to load.

But whatever websites you have, could you share them with me thanks! (:

    2nd question:

how do you add color, change the size and bold, italic, or underline the text in a bulletin or on your 'about me'? i always see it and i want to learn how to do that.

All i know is that you have to have a certain code for you to do that.

I hope all of this is clear enough for you guys to understand! (: thank you!2 questions about myspace!?
    1st answer: picnik.com

2nd answer: bold %26lt;b%26gt;{text}%26lt;/b%26gt;, italics %26lt;i%26gt;{text}%26lt;/i%26gt;, larger text %26lt;big%26gt;{text}%26lt;/big%26gt; OR %26lt;size=16%26gt;{text}%26lt;/size%26gt;, color %26lt;color=pink%26gt;{text [you can insert any color name, i just used pink]}%26lt;/color%26gt;2 questions about myspace!?

    same with u for underline

    i for italic

    also for color you do %26lt;fontcolor= [color]%26gt;[insert text here]%26gt;

and when your finished with what you want in color do %26lt; / font %26gt; (without the spaces (:

for big do %26lt; big %26gt; (without spaces)
to edit pictures you can go on photobucket .

and to get codes and other cool stuff you can go on myfreecodesource.com
Ok for the 1st question, you can do all that on myspace. Just go to your photos and click on the one you want to change and just below the picture click ';Customize Photo'; and there you can change everything you're talking about.

For the 2nd question, coolchaser.com you can change everything you talking about. This is the only site I use. You can start from scratch and create you own or you can use one on there site and change what you don't like about it. Such as the font size and color, the background color, the theme, and anything you want to change you can. All you have to do is create an account, it's totally free, and then it will save all you layouts for you.

How do you pick the size of your paper on powerpoint 2007?

I want to print a picture that is 4x6 but i dont know how to change the paper size/type from 8.5x11 to 4x6. can anyone tell me how to change it? thanks. How do you pick the size of your paper on powerpoint 2007?
    Hi there,

I think what you are looking for isn't really a function of PowerPoint. You need the printer's settings. So when you go to print, in the dialog box that opens look for something that says Properties then look for a tab or section that says Paper and look for the size you need.

All printers and drivers are different, but you should be able to pick your way through and find what you need.

Then, when you go back to the basic PowerPoint print dialog box, be sure to click ON Scale to Fit Paper at the bottom. How do you pick the size of your paper on powerpoint 2007?
you can set the size through this way: click';Design';---';page setup';,you will see a dialog box. you can do it there. if you have more question about the way to use ppt, i suggest you go to http://www.acoolsoft.com/support/knowled鈥?/a> .

    Hard-way :

use resource editor like resource hacker to replace the image resource in msstyles theme directly (eg C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna\Luna.ms鈥?br>
with resource editor, you can open windows dll (eg. comctl32.dll) and resize the dialog box or replace the button caption. you can edit logonui.exe and change the way your logon windows looks.

    Easy-way :

download Uxtheme replacer or Uxtheme Multi-patcher to replace the original Uxtheme.dll from windows, grab any msstyles theme from internet and put it in \windows\resources or you can build your own themes with Style builder.

On Photoshop, when I take a big picture and make it smaller it goes fuzzy. How can I fix this?

I tried changing the size of the image but the same thing happens. HELP!On Photoshop, when I take a big picture and make it smaller it goes fuzzy. How can I fix this?
By making it smaller, you are removing information (pixels) and the image will blur. How sharp the image is will be a factor of the number of pixels in the original as well as the format. For example jpg is already compressed and if you compress it further by shrinking it, you lose detail because you are adding ';noise.'; You should always shoot pictures in the highest resolution your camera supports. It allows you to do more when you want to edit it later. On Photoshop, when I take a big picture and make it smaller it goes fuzzy. How can I fix this?
You can't change the size of a bitmapped graphic file without causing it to go fuzzy. (What you see on TV is TV, not reality.) Vector graphic files can be resized without doing that. (And Photoshop is bitmapped.)

How do I edit HTML so that my page will stay the same even if the window size changes?

I'm making a website with HTML. It's not really that complicated, but when I make my window smaller everything gets messed up. Pictures move around, as do headings and text. My horizontal frame that contains my navigation bar gets so small that you can no longer see more than half of the links. I want to know how to fix this, so my pages will stay the same regardless of window size. Thank you.How do I edit HTML so that my page will stay the same even if the window size changes?
There is no such thing as a fraction of a pixel. Use of 10.45% works. You can use percents in place of fixed units, but you need to dump (remove) any absolute positioning for your pages. Most people do not surf with real small browser windows so try to make it work at a minimum with/height that is to be expected on the Internet. Take a read of following site:

    http://www.alistapart.com/articles/holyg鈥?/a>

RonHow do I edit HTML so that my page will stay the same even if the window size changes?
you should define any sizes by portion instead of pixels......

for e.g: if you want an ';object'; to be 10.24px width you should define it as 10%

get in touch via IM, I am also trying to solve the same problem maybe we can get to a conclusion
I believe it has to do with positioning,

weather it is relative or absolute

Its been a while since i did html and css

But i believe it is done by putting this in

    %26lt;Style= position:absolute%26gt;

Im not 100% sure, but thats how i made my pages and they always stayed the same size regardless of the window's they were in
Always place things in a table with a fixed width and center that table on the screen and presto the page stays the same on all resizes.
Define the table size with pixel values...
You need to design your site as a ';liquid layout'; that is, using % for all your widths. You need to be careful with your images as well.

Go to www.web2coders.com and take the ';table v div challenge';. Download the code at the end of the show: it contains many tricks to develop liquid layouts...

    Good luck.
As others have said, using percentages for your widths/heights in your CSS/HTML will help.

However, you should also specify the min-width css attribute on anything which causes trouble - set this to the smallest number of pixels permissible, and it'll help stop things shrinking and messing up the output.
    Thre are a couple ways actually and it all depends on how you are setting up the site. If you are using frames to split up a page you can set their width/height to remain constant in the %26lt;frameset%26gt;

Ex: In this example the right frame would always remain 300 pixels wide no matter how large or small someone makes the browser window. The left frame simply takes up the rest of the space (if any).

    %26lt;frameset cols=';300,*';%26gt;

    %26lt;frame src=';frame_a.htm';%26gt;

    %26lt;frame src=';frame_b.htm';%26gt;

    %26lt;/frameset%26gt;

If you are not using %26lt;frameset%26gt; or any of that then %26lt;table%26gt; is the simplest way to go. Once you define the width or height of a table it remains that size, again, no matter what size or shape someone makes their browser window.

    Ex:

    %26lt;table width=600%26gt;%26lt;tr%26gt;%26lt;td%26gt;%26lt;/td%26gt;%26lt;/tr%26gt;%26lt;/table%26gt;

You can also play with the sections inside the table (%26lt;td%26gt;%26lt;th%26gt;etc) and set them to have fixed widths as well. There are a ton of good examples and explanations at www.w3schools.com that can help you out even more.

    Good luck and happy coding.

Hit the ';Print Screen'; key on your keyboard. It takes a screenshot. You can then paste this into any image editing software, like Photoshop or even MS Paint. There are also software products available that will allow you to extract scenes from an MP4 file or other video formats.

Edited to add requested additional info: print screen button usually says ';Prt Sc'; on PC keyboards. On the Mac, a more complex series of actions is needed. See the URL added in the sources below.

Depending on the type of picture, you can try changing the file type.

GIF, PNG, and JPG are good alternatives to BMP if you're using it.

An application called ';Irfanview'; can save lots of different file types, play around with it and see if you can get something to work.
    open at powerpoint

    click pic, right click

    format/size

    ms picture

click picture/resize - type the % to reduce
Yes. From Photoshop go to the top drop down menu ';Image'; then scroll to Image size. I'd change the resolution to 200 and adjust the width to what you would like it to be.

Look at the pixel dimensions at the very top. It should say what the files size was, and what it is after you changed the width. May sure the ';Constrain Proportions'; box is checked so that it sixes proportionately.

You can use PowerPoint's built in Photo Album. In XP/2003 it's under Insert --%26gt; Picture --%26gt; New Photo Album. In 2007, Photo Album should be right on the insert tab.

This will bring all the pictures in to fit the screen (or whatever configuration you want).

Check out this article that has a couple warnings, but basically, I think this will be perfect for you - should do the job in a couple minutes - even re-starting from scratch which is what you'd need to do!

i recant, the 'insert photoalbum' is the best choice and works pretty well.

i'm pretty sure you can't do this. if t]all the pics are exactly the same, you can try to change the size of the slides so they match the size of the pics, but that's about it.

this is to say ion the page set up in file, there is a 'slide size', you'll probably have to play with it a bit and see the results. i've used ifran and it's not bad, but it will change the pics themselves and that doesn't sound like what you'r asking to do. better to leave them as they are nd manipulate them in powerpoint, imho. good luck.
There are some tips at http://help.wugnet.com/office/resizing-m鈥?/a> but I think you may be better off doing this outside of PowerPoint.

Ifvanview - http://www.irfanview.com/ - was made for batch photo conversions. See http://www.lancelotgroup.com/tutorials/H鈥?/a> for instructions.

If you have it the Photoshop and probably other image editors have a batch action record facility. To use this see http://www.pagecurve.com/tutorial.php?id鈥?/a>

Changing the pixel size of pictures stored on computer?

I need to know how to change the pixel size of pictures that have been transferred over to my computer, I copied them to a disc and tried to print them at Wal-Mart photo kiosk but received a message that the resolution was poor and due to pixel size, I was trying to print 8X10, the only compatible size to print for the pixels is a 4x6 and requirements are an 8X10, I did print one just to see what it looked like but it came out kind of grainy, obviously because of the resolution. This is a 4-H fair entry project. I don't know if this is a camera problem a computer problem or that I downloaded the picasa 3 software and edited. I did check the camera menu and it is set on 7.1 mega pixels.

We did make some edits with picasa 3 software, and my camera is a kodak easyshare model Z710, 7.1 mega pixel, 10X optical zoom.

Please help us,so we can print these for the fair, which is Thursday. One possibility is that several of the pictures are still on my memory card, but I live in the country so won't be going back to town until tomorrow to even see if that works.Changing the pixel size of pictures stored on computer?
    Three possibilities:

    1. you might have been shooting at a lower resolution and/or file size than the maximum the camera is capable of,

    2. You might have cropped out such a small segment of the original image hat there's simply not enough information to produce a decent print size, or

    3. You may have inadvertently saved the file in some reduced file size that's specified for web use.

I doubt that there's a problem with either your camera or your computer.

Good luck.Changing the pixel size of pictures stored on computer?
A 7.1 megapixel image will be high enough to produce a 8 x 10 printed image, if it actually is 7.1MP by the time you print it. The most probable explanation is that it got downsized when you edited the photo in picasa, make sure you put it through again and when you save it make sure it is set to full quality settings. If you happened to crop the photo though, then it would reduce the pixel size and there's not much you can do. So you can either use the original image (straight from the camera) or try editing it again in picasa and saving it at full size in picasa. Good luck to you, hope it helps.

Changing the size of Scanned pictures?

My pictures were printed out at costco and now I want to scan them onto my myspace- which I know how, except it looks really small and has all this white space behind it

Is there anyway I can make the scanned image BIGGER?

ThanksChanging the size of Scanned pictures?
    Hi

Open your Gimp or Photoshop and scan them in there. Then resample tham at 200% bigger or just stretch them manually to the size you want.

Then save them as jpeg. You can also use the mask tool to select just the image and cut/paste it so that you have no white around it.Changing the size of Scanned pictures?
you can goto the paint program and change almost anything,
  • camcorders
  • suits brown skin
