How do you change the size of a picture from an email?

I received an email with a picture. I want to forward the picture to ';my pictures';. When I try it shows up not as a picture but as a square with dots in the middle of it. It also won't let me forward the email itself to anyone. What do I do?How do you change the size of a picture from an email?
Have you tried right clicking on the pic and choosing ';save as'; then saving as a .JPG? Then you can open it in your photo editor and re-size it.
